While the things you mentioned (resolution/aspect ratio support, QoL features and audio) are great and seem to be in amazing spot in the PR, some issues such as fonts, 'mobile like interfaces', presentation and some contentious opinions on the redrawn characters/color pallets. Hopefully they'll also update the screenshots (so many vertical black bars.) but I kinda doubt it.Ĭlick to shrink.I should have prefaced what I said about FF6PR as hearsay rather than opinion - but from what I've gathered some elements in the remaster are lacking. Probably will be something there tomorrow, though. Not that you ever really need to do much grinding in Trigger, but it's a nice thing.Īt the moment there's no mention of the update on the game's Steam store page. It's.not great, of course, but it's another way to control it for those who want to.Īuto-battle increasing the battle speed by +50% is a welcome move. The PC version has an optional touchpad if you want to use the mouse to move. It was always kinda weird that all the ports of the game still only had 3. The extra 17 save files are nice to have, of course. Was fortunately easy to change back, and the resolutions are all helpfully labeled by aspect ratio so it was easy to start in windowed 21:9. I play the game windowed on PC, but the first time I started the game post-update it launched in full screen. It still creates tile seams like nothing else. I really wish there was an option on mobile to disable the "high resolution" (lol) graphics filter. Vertical-scrolling areas like the exterior of the Fiendlord's Keep are also way better in 16:9 and ultrawide. Things like that alone make it quite a bit better when playing on my phone, which forces a widescreen presentation. Single-screen areas like the clearing in Guardia Forest, which previously had vertical black bars if played in 16:9, now has filled-in graphics even when playing in 21:9. Just tested a couple things in the new patch.
